Ademola Lookman, a winger for Atalanta, has spoken out over Thursday night’s draw with Marseille.

In the first leg of the UEFA Europa League semi-final match at the Stade Velodrome, Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad was held to a 1-1 draw by their hosts.

Lookman, who came on as a substitute in the closely contested match, thinks there’s room for improvement in the rematch.

Our first goal gave us a great head start, and we went ahead 1-0. Clearly, they scored a goal. The match was fairly balanced, the 27-year-old said to UEFA’s website.

There were opportunities for both of us. Ultimately, drawing 1-1 away from home is a good result, so we will aim to be in the final in our next game.

The second leg matchup between the two sides is scheduled for next Thursday at the Gewiss Stadium.

In the final, the victor will take on one of AS Roma or Bayer Leverkusen.
