Otti names Ihejirika a former chief of army staff to head the state security advisory committee

The establishment of a state security trust fund and an advisory council on security has been greenlit by Abia State Governor Alex Otti.

The result is that Lt. Gen. Azubuike Onyeabo Ihejirika (Rtd.), a former chief of staff of the Nigerian army, would serve as chairman of the council, nominated by Governor Otti. Uche Ivy Okoronkwo, a retired director general of police, will serve as vice chairman.

Maj. Gen. Abel Obi Umahi (ret.), AVM Emmanuel Chukwu (ret.), and security specialist Mr. Ray Nkemdirim are all members of the council.

Along with Maj Gen J.O. Nwaogbo, rtd., the security council will be headed by Navy Cmdr Macdonald Ubah, rtd.

Stanley Obiamarije was chosen Chairman of the Security Trust Fund by Governor Otti, with Owelle Greg Okafor, Mrs. Ngozi Ekeoma, Johnson Chukwu, Mrs. Josephine Nweze, Mrs. Nkechi Obi, and Mr. Bank-Anthony Okoroafor as members.

The appointments are effective immediately, according to a statement issued by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Kazie Uko on Friday.
