The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command has, in response to the state’s petroleum product crisis, stopped a tanker on Ibrahim Taiwo Road that was transporting more than 20,000 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

According to a statement issued by SC Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, the tanker was apprehended while its route to an undisclosed destination in neighboring Katsina State after allegedly stealing gasoline from a Kano filling station.

The petroleum product would be returned and offloaded at the original authorized filling station in Kano once the investigation concludes, according to Abdullahi. Offenders will face legal consequences.

in the same time, the Command dealt with complaints of illegal activity in the Ungoggo local government’s Bachirawa Kwanar Ungoggo Market.

Abdullahi stated that market vendors had informed the NSCDC about criminals’ actions that veer towards vandalism, theft, and drug peddling.

In response, he announced that over fifty individuals facing criminal charges were apprehended in the market as a consequence of a coordinated operation involving members of the armed squad unit of the NSCDC and vigilante groups.
