Administrative and academic pursuits at UniAbuja continue

Regardless of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike, academic and administrative operations on campus would continue, according to UniAbuja’s management.

Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, VC, made the announcement during a meeting with the provost, deans, directors, and department heads.

In a statement made on Friday in Abuja, this was said by Dr. Habib Yakoob, the Acting Director of Information and University Relations.

The VC blasted the walkout as polarizing and pointless, and he vowed that administration will never again let the institution suffer so severely.

This university is not on strike in the eyes of its administration.

Everyone here in administration has come to the consensus that the university’s regular operations must continue as scheduled, despite reports that some faculty members have gone on strike.

Thanks be to God, our exams are still underway, senate meetings will go on as scheduled, and the university’s other operations will not halt.

We are prepared not to tolerate this interruption again; it is unfair to cripple the university over just sentimental problems, some of which we have dialogued about and addressed,” he stated.

He rejected the union’s stated claims as ground zero for their prolonged strike declaration.
