The omission of Funke Akindele’s record-breaking film, “A Tribe Called Judah,” from the tenth annual Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards has reportedly sparked concerns, according to the divinejams.

Despite becoming the first Nigerian film to gross over N1 billion in theaters last December, ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ lost all five nominations.

Toyin Abraham, her competitor, praised the edition, calling it the “best and realest ever.”

Abraham posted, “Best and realest AMVCA ever” to her Instagram. Outstanding work, @busola.tejumola. You succeeded, and sure, you have our affection. Congratulations, @africamagic!

This comes just two weeks after Abraham, claiming that they became “competitors and persona non grata” because of rumors, reached out to Funke Akindele, a coworker of hers, and offered her an olive branch.

The animosity between them, she claimed, started in the Yoruba film industry and followed them to Nollywood, the Nigerian-English film industry.

Abraham countered that they can compete in a positive way, thanks to her experience and maturity.
