Avoid Interfering With Finidi George’s Job: Bamigboye Cautions NFF Ministry Warn Super Eagles

Ahead of Finidi George’s Super Eagles coaching tenure, Godwin Bamigboye, chairman of the FCT Football Coaches Association, has warned the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Federal Ministry of Sports Development against meddling.

The counsel came from Bamigboye in an interview he delivered yesterday in Abuja to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

On Monday, the head coach of the most populated men’s national football team in Africa was named—the former Nigerian international winger—replacing Jose Peseiro, who resigned after his contract expired.

The NFF should treat George with dignity and grant him all the benefits and rights accorded to international coaches, Bamigboye pleaded with the NFF.

George, my brother, has been appointed, and I wish to congratulate him. His achievements as coach of Enyimba International, a top club in Nigeria, are well-known to us.

He is also familiar with the team’s players thanks to his lengthy tenure working with Peseiro. He ought to have grasped their complexities and put his sagacity and insight to work overseeing them.

It is possible for the technical committee to operate invisibly and do their duties behind the scenes.
