While inspecting the recently built Omisanjana-Sije-Ajebamidele road in Ado Ekiti, the capital of the state, Special Adviser and Director General of the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD) John Ekundayo offered the suggestion.

In order to make sure the road project lasts, the Special Adviser and engineers from the State Ministry of Works stressed that people should make it a habit to clean and clear the line drains on a regular basis.

Ekundayo emphasized that the 9.2-kilometer project and the adjacent Solar Powered Street Lighting System will reduce expenses on vehicle maintenance, promote economic activities, ease movement of people and materials, bring down the crime rate, and checkmate motorcycle accidents on the road while analyzing the benefits to the people of the benefiting communities.

In order to prevent the needless disposal of refuse that could obstruct waterways, Ekundayo urged the Ministry of Environment to regularly inspect and monitor drainage and road sides.

Additionally, the minister should move swiftly to dredge the Omisanjana stream to clear the way for the upcoming rainy season.

The head of the OTSD commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for finally breaking the curse that had plagued the road project’s construction for so long, but he also issued a warning to drivers and pedestrians on the route: do not speed in order to avoid accidents.
