The government of Niger has set the monthly internal revenue receipts at N100 billion up from N10 billion

The current monthly Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in Niger State is N10 billion, but Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has set a goal of N100 billion for the State Board of Internal Revenue.

In a speech commemorating his first year in office, the governor made the announcement on Wednesday night during an anniversary lecture in Minna.

Bago disclosed that the state’s current monthly IGR is N10 billion, an increase of more than 100% from the N4 billion passed down from earlier administrations.

In his new Niger agenda, he aims to build upon the ongoing initiatives across the state, saying, “I am determined to give the best to the people and ensure they benefit from every sector.”

At the one-year anniversary lectures, former Commerce Minister Engr. Mustafa Bello and Professor Nasiru Maiturare, who had previously served as Vice-Chancellor of IBB University, Lapai, urged the Governor to ignore any and all attempts to derail his transformation agenda.
