Mansur Abdullahi’s dismissal as head coach of Sokoto United has been explained.
The previous coach was accused by the club of consistently failing to commit to the team’s goals and objectives.
Sokoto United further claimed that coach Abdullahi had done things that tarnished the team’s and the organization’s reputation as well as that of the state’s youth and sports ministry.
Despite leading the team to a spot in the Nigeria National League Super Eight playoffs, Abdullahi was fired from his role.
His assistant, Peter Ajani, was just named coach of Sokoto United.
During the Nigeria National League Super Eight playoffs, Ajani will serve as the team’s coach.
In the first encounter of the tournament, Sokoto United will take on Sporting Supreme.
The dates of the 2024 Super Eight playoff event are June 7–14.
