At a ceremony in Abuja to present certificates of completion, solar kiosks, and grants to worthy participants of the ‘Unlock Training Programme,’ Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education (SSAP-TVEE) Abiola Arogundade made the announcement.

According to her, the program was born out of a six-week initiative by the Presidency that asked young Nigerians to document and share a one-minute video about their existing technical, vocational, and educational (TVET) abilities, as well as their future goals in this area and how they hoped the government would help them reach those goals.

According to Arogundade, the program taught its participants, both virtually and in person, how to write an effective business plan, including how to price products and services, manage finances, identify potential dangers, and more.

According to the presidential adviser, over 10,000 people participated in a 10-day boot camp that taught them how to create and implement business strategies.

“Participants were requested to draft and hand in business plans following the course,” she said. There are 120 winners, and each of them has a winning business plan. Today, we are distributing N500,000 grants.

Eighty people who have shown exceptional proficiency in technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial areas but can use some help expanding their enterprises will also be receiving honorary prizes.

Winners will get one of four Solar Kiosks to help them put their TVET talents to use in the real world, as you probably noticed on your way in. Two are more generic, one is for hairstyling and the other is for catering and food vending.
