Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, has come clean about his desire to pursue Harry Kane. However, Rasmus Hojlund was signed instead.

While Kane departed Tottenham for Bayern Munich for £100 million, Hojlund departed Atalanta for United in a £72 million transaction.

Hojlund has scored eight goals in twenty-six league appearances for United this season, while Kane has scored thirty-five in thirty-one games for Bayern in the Bundesliga.

People with Rasmus Hojlund’s skill set have been considered for certain positions.

I can think of a striker who has already shown his worth, but we were unable to recruit him. In an interview with Sky Sports’ Gary Neville, Ten Hag explained that they sought out Rasmus due to his talent.

“Yes, and you know Harry Kane will get you 30 goals,” Ten Hag said in response to a direct question about whether he was mentioning Kane.

Rasmus needs time, but I have faith in his ability to succeed. It would be unfair to compare him to Harry Kane. Because of how dissimilar each player is, I would never make a comparison between them.
